So one of the things I wanted to accomplish this year was read more books (12 to be exact) and I am happy to announce that I have finished the first one of the year. “You Are A Badass” by Jen Sincero was just what I needed, and I’m hoping it sets the tone for the rest of my 2019. If you feel like you’re in a rut, or need some inspiration, or feel lost, or disconnected from yourself, PICK. UP. THIS. BOOK. And read it cover to cover, and doggy-ear the pages you relate with, and go back to reference it when you stray from your full potential. This book is filled to the brim with advice and wisdom on how to shift your thoughts away from negativity, and to focus on the infiniteness of our world. I know, it can sound a little hippy-ish, but go into it with an open mind and it will not disappoint.
Here’s what I learned from this book: everything you want in your life is available in the universe right now. All you have to do is take it. Understand that the universe is completely limitless, and it has your back. Again, I promise I’m not sitting in a drum circle singing kumbaya. I’m just saying, there’s no harm in being open to everything the universe has for you, and to become the best version of yourself you can be. Since reading this book, I’ve lost 8 lbs, started meditating every morning, and have been keeping up with several healthy habits. And we’re only 10 days into the new year. I may just be on a self-help kick right now, but I’m living my best and loving it.
